So you want to be a coder......awesome! Our Robotics and Coding Club focuses directly on exploring a variety of robots, such as the Lego Mindstorms EV3, Dash and Dot, Sphero, Ozobot, and more! During this 4 day camp, kids get hands on experience building and programming their robots, performing a variety of tasks!
In addition, we explore other coding tools, such as Scratch, Tynker, Lightbot, and Hopscotch. For our more advanced programmers, we delve into Python, which is their first foray into Middle School Computer Science courses.
While our focus is on engaging students in robotics and coding, we keep it fun! Playing games, providing challenges, and implementing competitions keeps the kids on their toes and enjoying every minute of their day. Many skills are introduced and integrated:

Robotics and Coding:
Session Dates: TBA Length: Monday - Thursday, 4 days each week Hours: 9 - 3:00 (extended day options available, see below) Ages: Any students entering Grades 4, 5, 6, 7 Location: Pine Trail Elementary, Room 701 Cost: $275; siblings $250 Sample Schedule:
9 - 10:15: Instruction, building and programming 10:15 - 10:40: Snack, recess 10:40 - 12:00: Mission Challenges 12:00 - 12:30: Lunch 12:30 - 1:30: Instruction in coding, building programs 1:30 - 1:45: Recess or games 1:45 - 3:00: Individual coding projects 3:00 - 3:15: Reflection, goal setting 3:15 - 3:30: Cleanup, charging, dismissal Lego Robotics Team
We are VERY PROUD of our competitive robotics team!! For the past 3 years, our teams have made the regional finals, an amazing accomplishment! This program requires extreme dedication; practices sometimes take place every day after school. Do YOU have what it takes to make the team??
